San Vito Lo Capo |

The
beach of San Vito lo Capo stretches until the extremity of the cape
bearing the same name. The town has a seafaring tradition and it built around the ancient Saracen Fortress, subsequently transformed into a
sanctuary dedicated to St. Vito.
Today,
the main activity is tourism. The climate, the beach, the sea, the little
streets adorned with flowers, the fresh fish, the intense perfumes and the
lovely views, offer to the tourists an unforgettable holiday.
Seafaring
center and famous tourist locality, the town rise along the coastal
littoral, wich goes from the Cofano mountain to the natural reserve of
"Zingaro" (Gipsy), at the outermost point of the western Sicily.
Who arrives in this area, remains enchanted by the colors of the sea, the long and wonderful beach of white
sand streching into the
turquoise sea, by the white houses, by the brightness of the sun and the scent of the local food.
|
Thanks to the flourishing tourist harbor it is possible to practice many sports: amateur navigation, sailing, windsurf and underwater diving. In the district of San Vito lo Capo lies the natural reserve of the "Zingaro", wich has a territory that rises up to 913 meters altitude from the "Tonnara di Scopello" to San Vito lo Capo, preserving fauna and flora specimens.
The
seven kilometers of seashore are all a succession of steep walls, little
bays, cliffs, submarine caves, beaches of sand and fine gravel, reflected
in a limpid sea, blue or turquoise from time to time.
